Choosing the right colour to paint your walls within your space can be a little confusing. So, I have rendered the same space below to give you an idea of what the impact can be, say if you pick a deep rich hue vs a neutral hue.
Bedroom Colour Walls – Interior Design – Phillpotts Dowding
The first bedroom shows a beautiful peacock blue wall paint, which gives a more cosy feel to the space. This is because the hue is darker and therefore absorbs more light, a darker colour also advances towards you and so gives a feeling of smaller more enclosed space. The metallic gold accents contrast beautiful against the matte peacock blue paint, which I personally love and is very much on trend at the moment.

The second version of the same bedroom shows a plain neutral grey wall paint, which gives a more open feeling to the space. This is because the hue is lighter and therefore the light reflects off the walls, a lighter colour also recedes away from you and therefore gives a feeling of a more open space. Here the same wood furniture stands out away from the rest of the space, as the contrast between brown and the whiter hue is quite stark.
I may be a little biased as I am swayed more towards rich blue hue, because I love metallic gold and rich matte blue paint. Which atmosphere would you prefer?
